You move your mouse toward the close button and a discount appears. A banner says 23 people are viewing this page. A timer says your price is reserved for 30 minutes. These are checkout pressure tools, and they are designed to speed up a decision you have not finished making.
Some are real and some are scripts that show the same number to everyone. A quick test: reload the page and watch whether the counter changes in a believable way, then open the page in a private window and see if the timer starts again from the beginning.
A good offer is still a good offer after you close the tab. If the discount only exists while you feel rushed, wait a day and compare.
